winter 2021

exhibition- femmes de papier

FROM MARCH TO SEPTEMBER, PLEASE MAKE YOUR VISIT RESERVATIONAT 819-627-1846 oR BY EMAIL AT info@museedelagare.com
You will be invited to admire the Femmes de papier exhibition at the Train Station Museum.
''For thousands of Canadians, the mention of pulp and paper evokes the memory of a lumberjack working in the heart of the boreal forest or a papermaker going to work, his lunch box in hand. Our grandfathers have talked to us on numerous occasions about the ambient noise at the plant, the heat from the machines and the demanding nature of working on shifts. What about our mothers and grandmothers? FEMMES DE PAPIER offers a feminine perspective on a male-predominant industry.
Through various interactive stations, you are invited to discover the daily lives of women from different environments: stay-at-home mothers, cooks in logging camps, plant secretaries or women who challenged norms by being actively involved in the production process. Their stories, often lived in parallel with their husband?s reality, dismantle prejudices. From the papermaker?s daughter to the plant director, these women from the paper industry will make you laugh, but mostly, they will remind you of how far we have come over the last fifty years.
FEMMES DE PAPIER is a touching and interactive exhibit which provides a different and genuine glimpse into the reality of women who contributed to history.
We hope to see many of you there!

snow sculpture competition

During this particularly difficult period, we are inviting you to go play outside and take up a challenge individually, as a couple or with your family bubble!

Families who wish to participate must send a photo to the Committee by email at temiscaming100@gmail.com, before March 8th 2021 at 10 p.m. Your photos will be published on our Facebook page and on the community channel (TVCTK) on March 8th.

Starting March 9th at 10 a.m. people will be invited to vote on Facebook for their favorite sculpture. Voting will end on March 11th at 8 p.m. and the announcement of the winners will take place live on Facebook the same day at 8:30 p.m.

There will be a prize for the photo with the most ??LIKE?? , as well as participation prizes.

Put on your winter clothes and go play outside! Regardless of your age, this is an opportunity to have fun with the family and create new memories! Don't hesitate to go for walks to admire the creations of others!

the centennial terrace

summer 2021

The train station Museum, in partnership with the centennial of Témiscaming, presents the Centennial Cabaret!

The Centennial cabaret is an ephemeral terrace that will host music groups this summer, behind the station museum!

Inspired by an initiative of the FME of Rouyn-Noranda, the cabaret is a place to gather and have a good time together, around a drink, while listening to a good show. We come with family and we meet friends there!

You can attend free concerts throughout the summer, but also dance to the sound of the best DJs in the area! Here you can eat dishes prepared by our local food truck and drink regional wine and beer. Children will not be left out, since a playground will be available to them.

On days when there is no show, the terrace can be used by visitors, and they can take part in any activity they want(yoga, reading, lunch, etc.).

A whole summer of celebration awaits you at the Centennial Cabaret at the train station Museum!
